R — Research
We reclaim the truth by following the Grant money, analyzing documents, and exposing contradictions and inaction with hard evidence.
E — Equity
True equity means redirecting resources back to the people, not just padding payrolls or vague program costs.
A — Accountability
We hold organizations, tribal councils, and leadership responsible for real-world results, not just press statements.
C — Community
The Oyate are the foundation of this work. Every step we take is in service of them.
T — Transparency
If it’s done in our name, it should be done in our sight. Transparency is the first step toward justice.
JOIN REACT: An Initiative for Indigenous Accountability
Research for Equity, Accountability, and Community Transparency
An initiative of the Tribal Anti-Corruption League (TACL)
Our people are being targeted by our own tribal businesses, nonprofits, and Native-led enterprises. These organizations are receiving millions in funding every year, yet the reality on the ground remains unchanged. We still face the highest rates of addiction, suicide, incarceration, poverty, and low graduation rates in the country. Our youth are neglected. Our elders are unsupported. Our cultural programs are used as window dressing while the people continue to suffer.
We research because truth is buried beneath paperwork and PR. We fight for equity because resources must go to the people, not into bloated budgets. We demand accountability because those in power must answer to those they claim to serve. We center community because the Oyate are the reason we do this. And we expose everything with full transparency, because if it’s done in our name, it should be done in our sight.
We are building a team of volunteer researchers, writers, data analysts, designers, and community watchdogs. You don’t need a degree, just dedication. We’ll train you. Together, we’ll investigate nonprofit funding, tribal enterprise spending, and track how resources are being used or misused in Indian Country. So, the goal is simple: put facts into the hands of the people and build a public report that exposes the truth.
This is how we reclaim our power. This is how we protect our people. This is how we now must REACT to the years of abuse and neglect.
